Seneca (beaver clan)- stone and antler carvings

Norman Jimerson resides on the Cattaraugus Territory of the Seneca Nation of Indians.  His work is an display at the Seneca Niagara Casino.

"My creations are inspired by traditional Iroquois legends and stories. We have an oral tradition and unfortunately Seneca culture and language are in danger of dying. I see my work as a form of cultural preservation. Capturing our stories in stone and antler ensures that our culture will be preserved for the next seven generations."
